Guzheng Courses
Our guzheng courses are designed to fit every student's need. We offer instructions in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. We value the needs of individual students; therefore, we tailored our established course to help students meet their goals. Students are encouraged to pick their preferred styles, paces, and levels of difficulties.

Growing up in a musical family, Allen Yunqing Pan learned to play the guzheng at an early age—his teacher and uncle, Fengnan Cao, is a talented professional Chinese musician.
Allen is a renowned guzheng instructor with over eight years of experience in guzheng teaching. He started teaching in 1997 in Nanjing, China and moved to Chicago in 1999. He has taught over 200 students of all ages, the youngest being only five years old. Allen teaches a broad range of guzheng music, including different styles (Zhejiang, Canton, Hakka, Chaozhou, Henan, Shaanxi, and Shandong). To date, he and his students have been invited to perform in over 20 countries.
Besides teaching music, Allen gives lectures on Chinese art and culture. MusicPatio has been featured on TV, radio broadcastings, and newspapers, including Comcast TV, the Chicago Tribune, Hyde Park Herald, World Journal, and China Journal.
